Account manager

We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our tight-knit, busy Borough-based team.


At Make it Clear, we create research-led design solutions that focus on clarity to improve interactions, drive results and reduce costs for clients such as Cambridge University Press, Thales CPL, Orange, Spamhaus, and Virgin Media.

We're a small, fast-paced and ambitious agency where capability and initiative is noticed and rewarded with responsibility. As part of the client services team, you will project manage the day to day delivery of requirements, as well as developing and growing client relationships.  

About the role:

• Key point of contact for clients and other stakeholders; providing effective direction to ensure we are delivering to agreed strategic objectives, on time and on budget

• Preparing suitable responses to briefs and finding effective ways to work within the client’s budget

• Creating detailed plans encompassing project stages, delivery dates, budgets and statements of work

• Actively driving the growth of client accounts, by spotting opportunities and following up on potential work, managing client development pipelines

• Guiding design progress in the studio; proofreading and sharing feedback ensuring design and deliverables satisfy the client’s brief and feedback

• Overseeing the forecasted diary to plan and organise capacity in the studio

• Preparing status and finance reporting internally and externally

• Supporting the strategy team with research preparation, such as scheduling interviews, if needed

• Organising bought-in production and costs, selection of appropriate suppliers, and obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, briefing and liaising regarding delivery

• Reporting monthly to the Account Director on defined client targets


The role aims:

• Achieve quarterly invoicing targets

• Annual 20% revenue increase from clients managed

• Increase average project value

• Ensure five client opportunities are identified quarterly


About you:

• 3+ years experience managing projects in a creative agency environment

• Experience with marketing campaigns (digital and offline) essential

• Confident self-starter with the ability to pre-empt and understand client’s business needs and requests

• Great people skills and ability to build rapport with clients, stakeholders and suppliers

• Experience working with different teams/roles in-house and on the client-side

• Strong written, spelling & grammar, verbal & presentation skills

• Reassuring and calm personality, ensuring project follow through and delivery

• Able to multitask and prioritise with a positive, flexible, can do attitude

• Prior experience using InDesign, Excel, time and project management software
